After trying a few different soaps I found the perfect one. I use a boar brush and have no trouble developing a very rich lather with this soap. It provides a good cushion and the lanolin makes my skin feel very soft. I would recommend this soap to anyone wanting to experience the best in shaving comfort.
Wow. So often the hype is overdone. Not this time. It is the best soap I've used so far. I was sold on Cella until I tried MWF. I purchased the bowl as well. Really nice.
I liked the Mitchell's shaving soap so much that I ordered a refill puck. I love the way it lathers and protects my face when I shave. The scent is very mild, so any aftershave works with it. Leaves my skin soft and moisturized. This is one of my go to shaving soaps.
I have read about MWF that some people have a hard time making a thick lather. I am one of those people. I tried everything, except distilled water, and had no luck. This lather came out thin and airy. One thing is for sure, though, is that it is the slickest stuff around. Just not protective enough for me. I was really hoping that it would work but I gave up. I feel that it shouldn't be this hard to lather up. Therefore, I am moving on to other soaps that lather up with ease. For those of you who can make the "Fat" lather up nicely, I'm jealous of you!
For years I considered Tabac to be the undisputed king of shaving soaps. Then I tried Mitchell's Wool Fat and my opinion changed. This is the perfect shaving soap in my opinion. It produces the thickest, most luxurious lather that protects and moisturizes the skin like no other. The distinct scent is never overpowering and leaves you feeling clean and refreshed. I can't imagine shaving without it.
