I am new to staight razor shaving. Have been at it for a couple of months. I have a full custom razor that I paid a lot for and was thinking it wasn't as sharp as it should be. I sent it to be honed and the guy said it was junk. I bought this razor to have something to compare it to. This one was way better straight out the box. Just sent it to be honed to make sure it has a great edge can't wait to get it back. Trying to get my money back for the custom.
I'm surprised by my experience with this. It was not sharp out of the box. I see other reviews saying otherwise. I guess I just had a bad one. A quality built though
I received this TI Evide earlier this week. Before I go on with my review, let me say that I have been using a straight blade to shave with since 1972 so I'm very well versed in this art and pretty much know how any blade reacts and should react. I have used Boker, Devo and yes TI blades since 1972. That said I just wanted to purchase a new blade and given my past experinace with the Thiers Issard product I decided to go with this blade for my purchase. That said it would be very unfair to compare this razor to the other blades on the market. This blade is so much superoior than any other blade I have used. Dispite what you have hear or read about anyones razor have to be honed out of the box to have it save ready, this blade is packed and shipped from TI truly (shave ready) and in fact once you get the this razor and open the box it is clearly stated on the intro sheet from TI that this blade has been conditioned to be shave ready. Having said this I decided to do my own test, but before I go on please remember that I a very well versed as a blade shaver so please do not try this if your a new to this form of shaving. My test run on this blade was a dry, blind shave with no mirror on the left side of my face and the blade worked perfectly with no pulling, nicks or discomfort. (extremly sharp well balanced blade). I then shave my right side of the face wet and with shaving soap and it was by far the best shave I had in all my years of shaving. This is a magnifisent Razor that in fact should be price at a much higher price level than it is at $185.00. Like I said I have used many razors for many years and this should be in the $400.00 price level. By far in my opinoin the best razor on the market.
Well I am new to using a straight razor. A few nicks but I have had a great experience with this razor so far. Ken Fort McMurray AB
I thought I'd reviewed this already, I guess I forgot. I actually bought this razor a couple of years ago. It was pre-sharpened by TI. Right out of the box it gave an incredible shave. Scary sharp. I have about a dozen straight razors. This is my favorite.
