This is my sixth Taylors Eye Witness premium collection (worked backspring) pocket knife, and my third from Fendrihan. It is well made and very beautiful. It has a very, very tight backspring, as many high quality Sheffield made pocket knives do. It has a very strong 45 degree stop, to prevent the blade from swinging back into the handle in one movement (I believe it is a safety measure). The blade is perfectly centered, and mirror polished. In addition, the knife comes extremely sharp. In terms of aesthetics the (desert) ironwood handle scales are very beautiful, and perfectly compliment the nickel, and brass bolsters and furniture. I also have the Taylors Eye Witness 2 bladed Aboyna burl handled barlow and 2 blade clip point (slim) mother of pearl handled barlow from Fendrihan, which are of consistent quality. My only negative comment pertains to the extremely high price of these items. It is unfortunate that I became addicted to the premium TEW pocket knives, but fortunately my collection of the 6 key types and handle materials is now complete. For a beginner I would recommend Joseph Rodgers, A Wright, and Case knives (which make some nice exotic handled knives) for similar build quality but slightly less finished aesthetics at a much, much lower price. If you want the absolute best gentleman's folders available with a distinguished history for your waistcoat pocket (to go with your pocket watch) I would not hesitate to recommend any of the TEW premium collection range at Fendrihan.
