Normally I have to use a lot of pressure to cut my nails, even fresh out of the shower. I guess I am just used to low quality tools like most people. When I received these I tested them on my dry thumb nail and they went through it like butter. The blades on these are extremely sharp. You need very little force to cut with them which is great. The rubber handles are quite soft but grippy so they are easy on the hands but what the pictures do not show is how wide they are. When looking at them from the side the grip starts just below the cutter head then flares out to 3 cm (1 1/8") wide. This is the point where the edge of your hand and index finger would hold and it might be too wide for those with smaller hands which is the only flaw I can see with this particular model. From that point the grip extends down a further 8 cm (3 1/8") so they are a nice length with a gradual bend in them that fits the hand nicely. With the exception of the width of the grip I really love these clippers. I would not hesitate to buy another pair although I would get one with normal handles.
