I have quite a few badger brushes. If I was to pick a favourite amongst them, this would be it. I would characterize this one in the category of a Simpson chubby, without the shedding at a third the price. Great brush, great value.. The only caveat I can find is, it's a bit of a water/lather hog. Don't let that stop you though, minor inconvenience. Well done Semogue!
I've been using this brush for six weeks now am really impressed with it. My first few shaves with it I thought that it was way too soft. I was used to the best badger brush I have been using for five years, but then I remembered that when I switched from a boar hair brush to the best badger one I felt the same way. This brush makes a thick, smooth lather and feels very gentle against the skin. Yet it still exfoliates any dead skin off my face and lifts my beard hairs for a close shave. I think because of the longer bristle loft the brush holds more water than I am used to and it's taken me a while to adjust to a good water to shave cream ratio for the best lather. In the few weeks I have owned this brush I've only noticed two bristles come off, which is a new experience for me as I'm used to lower quality brushes that lose a couple of bristles with every shave. Really happy with this purchase! My only complaint is purely cosmetic: I wish the branding wasn't a sticker, but was more permanent.
Bought this brush a few days ago, and it has definitely spoiled me. Works up a great lather, and the bristles are super soft as expected.
This is a very nice medium stiff brush.
The brush felt great in the hand and the hairs firm against the face. A great feeling brush
