Good strop, but I don't know if I'd recommend it for beginners because you have you have to use a cross action since the blade will be a bit longer than the width of the strop. Other than that it does what it's meant to do and comes at a great price.
good strop. takes good chromium oxide on suede and has good smooth finish on the leather side
Love the 24 inch length. Don't much care for the hard factory finish. So... I softened it up with some strop conditioner to give it some draw. What a difference. It is now my favorite strop. I just bought a second one in case something happens to the one I now use. And you can't beat the price.
Great for the price. A perfect strop to add compound too. Then use a high quality strop to finish. If you're going to put compound on a strop always use a cheaper one. No point in buying expensive leather to just cover it with grease and grit. Learned this one the hard way. I have 500$ Kanayama strops. Would never taint its surface with compound. And... When I strop with compound always wipe the blade clean before you more to a solid leather strop. Otherwise u will slowly contaminate it over time. Buy this strop. Nice leather. A little un finished around the edges but gets the job done. For the price. Can't beat it.
