Uneven shave Not worth the 80.00 dollars
The Merkur 43C is a well constructed razor with a very good quality of finition. After reading many reviews on this razor that talked about the weight of the 43C I was aware of that fact. But like many user say if you use the weight of the razor to shave you will get a very nice shave. I am very satisfied of my 43C.
Merkur 43C easily becomes the best razor a man can acquire. Solid build quality, premium finish, with the heavy weight the razor literally slides by itself without any extra effort. Overall satisfaction 5/5 One thing a bit off is Fendrihan didn't give me the 30ml Baxter toner though I specificly asked for it in the purchase gift section
Solid, well "constructed". Good weight. Very pleased.
This is a beautiful DE razor, the weight gives it a very masculine feeling in your hand, this is not just a razor it is a shaving instrument. I have given one away as a gift and have received the same positive feedback. Comments here and other sites caution that this razor is not for beginners, I disagree. This is my first and only DE razor so far and I do not think I will ever switch. There are other DE razors that are much more expensive but I don't think I have seen one that matches the weight of the 43C. As far as being too aggressive, that has more to do with how much time you take to learn how to use it rather than the angle of the blade since it comes with the Merkur standard head. When shaving do not pull or push down with this razor, just let gravity pull it down naturally and you will have a smother shave. Also I find the best way to hold this razor to maximize the use of the weight is to hold it like you would hold a really hot disposable coffee cup. Thumb on one side, 3 fingers on the other with your pinky finger under the bottom holding it up. Also you wouldn't hold a hot coffee real tight so don't do that with the 43C eitehr. Enjoy,
