Feels good in hand which gives me great control the
Happy with this medium weight, open comb razor with a long handle. I’ve used it on a 2 day stable instead of my Merkur barber pole (closed) and it provides a comfortable and close shave. Happy with yet another Merkur razor in my collection.
Product is solidly built like other Merkur products I own. It is however much lighter an instrument than what I’m used to. The shave is fantastic close though; Even after only 2 passes. There are 3 things that would make this razor better slightly heavier, thicker handle and a two piece design like the 34C. But otherwise a very nice razor over all.
The Merkur 25C , was initially purchased as a replacement safety razor for an older razor I had damaged. The Merkur 25C is lightweight , easy to control , due to the long handle and the head doesn't load up as other safety razors do . It gives a very close , comfortable shave , just the way it was designed to do . A very affordable , quality safety razor . I would buy another , if need be .
I originally had the Merkur 1904, which was my first DE, and I loved dearly. Unfortunately I travel a lot and accidentally left it at a hotel, which they promptly were unable to find once i returned home and noticed it missing.... So I did some searching and found this one! So far I love it! But, going from the VERY easy shave of the 1904, i immediately cut myself up something fierce, because I was too used to a razor that just wasn't that aggressive... after which I actually took at look at the angle of the blade and everything and it was CLEARLY a much more aggressive layout, after which I've had several more shaves, each of which were blood-free. I was drawn to this razor because i wanted something new, i REALLY wanted a straight razor, but a blade and a strop were out of the finances, so I started looking for an open comb razor, and while at that, one with a longer handle than the 1904. I gotta say i like both, i like the simple grip of the short handle, but the longer seems to give me more places to hold the razor for when i'm unsure about my angle of attack, and for someone that regularly lets my hair grow in to the point that I SHOULD use clippers before I shave but don't.. I gotta say the open comb is really nice, it almost seems as if it clogs less because of it. Anyway I've said enough, love this razor, beware it's more aggressive than some of the beginner DE's out there, but still plenty good. Cheers!
