Focus R48 EVO Dynamic Single Edge Safety Razor

Wasn't impressed at all. From the very first time I used it, it just didn't feel right. Very hard, aggressive razor. Didn't shave well irritated my face. I tried different blades and nothing. Luckily, I contacted customer service and they allowed me to exchange the product. Thanks

A big PASS for me, into the useless razor pile it goes

After watching countless videos and reviews it seems everyone thinks this design is the bees knees. Well, I disagree. 1. the moving head is horrible. If there is the slightest resistance it flips and leaves a nice cut lint that needs styptic. This forces you to be over cautious and you don't get an efficient shave, and it is not relaxing or satisfying at all. 2. the fact that it wont take pre-cut blades is annoying. I knew that before I bought it but after inspecting the design they could have remedied that with a little ingenuity. 3. I calculated the "free" returns as being too expensive with the waste on shipping, and they will surely ding me on the "used' part even though i used it twice. Its not a very returnable product in my opinion. 4. Poor investment overall and huge mistake. I strongly do not recommend.

Focus R48 Dynamic Single Edge Safety Razor

Definitely a very unique shaving experience. There is a massive difference on how you use this single edge razor. The 3 pass shave is a stellar BBS. The hardest part of this razor is adapting to the spring loaded head and allowing the razor to flow with the contour of your face. Slight pressure at the head and being parallel to the angle of the razor without dragging it gave me the best results. Extremely pleased with the purchase & as usual Fendrihan was awesome. Don't give up on this razor, the more you use it the better results you will achieve. You will save a fortune on razor blades and acquire a new way to shave with a Single Edge Sarety Razor

Body Shaver

I purchased this razor specifically as a body shaver. I shave my arms, torso, and groin area, and have used cartridge razors exclusively for years. I use a Rex Ambassador for my face, so I didn't really try this razor anywhere other than my body. Here are some suggestions and observations I made after using this razor on my body: 1) Just because it looks like a cartridge razor, doesn't mean it behaves like one. There is a learning curve to using this razor. It's not quite like using a safety razor, and it's not like using a cartridge razor - it has its own unique shaving style. I watched tons of videos on how to use this razor, but they were all on someone's face. None of the techniques I saw really worked when it came to body shaving. If you've ever used a yellow Bic razor, it's sort of like that, but much better. 2) Don't have high expectations on your first shave. I wanted to throw this razor out after my first shave. It destroyed my skin and gave me terrible razor burn. I hated it and was ready to give up. However there was some advice I should have listed to, specifically on this site, that I wish I had taken. Which brings me to the next topic... 3) The blade you use is INCREDIBLY important. I use a Derby Extra in my Rex for my face on the lowest setting. It is very forgiving, never irritates my skin, and glides across my face. I thought for sure a Derby blade would be perfect in the Focus - huge mistake. You want a super thin, super sharp blade like a Feather. The Derby dragged along my skin and created terrible razor burn. The Feather however was amazing. It was like using a totally different razor. Also, I was initially put off by snapping the DE blades in half, but after doing it a few times, I'm not sure why I was so hesitant about it. It's very easy, especially if done while still in the wrapper. I haven't any problems with the blade moving around or unseating itself either. 4) You'll want to prep your body shave like you would shaving your face - hot water, a brush, and shaving soap. The Focus is not going to be a razor you can do a quick touch-up with in a morning shower with some bar soap. I use the Semogue Badger and Boar brush (highly recommended) and good old fashioned Proraso Green. The Focus literally glides across even the most sensitive parts of my body with a Feather blade. I'm so happy I finally have a razor that can replace my cartridge razor. I'm also really thankful I didn't toss it after the first shave. It takes a little more time and effort for a body shave, but it's well worth the results. I will be purchasing the stainless steel version once that comes back in stock.

The gem I was looking for!

This razor is absolutely perfect for me. I have sensitive skin and tend to have acne when I shave (even though I am in my forties.) The R48 isn’t too agressive and this helps me a lot. I do one pass going downward and one pass going upward. I can shave every two or three days without a problem and I haven’t had any acne since I started using it. I’m still using my first blade half after about seven or eight shaves, which means this razor will pay itself easily over time. I plan to use this razor for the rest of my life, nothing less!
