At this price point, there are few silvertip brushes available generally, I would consider this a size small, it has a small handle but has a decent knot. I've used this a couple of times and it has now started to break-in, I'm looking forward to enjoy multiple shave down the road, the stand just does it job without being pretty.
Other than a couple shaves with an entry level Omega synthetic brush, I don't have a wealth of experience to draw from but I assume I've set the bar pretty high with this purchase. Great brush so far - a beautiful, excellent and fully capable shaving brush. It lathers incredibly well and retains an immense amount of cream within the bristles allowing me to get multiple re-lathers every shave regardless the brand or quality of cream. It's like a natural sponge that keeps giving more and more cream each time I apply the brush to my face. So far though, I've paired it with Proraso, Castle Forbes and ToBS and it's been nothing but a pleasure to shave with. The silvertip badger has a good backbone even after being soaked and thoroughly used on my face and feels noticeably nicer in comparison to synthetic. My only complaints: it is smaller than I had imagined and if I were to buy again I would opt for the larger brush size option for personal preference. Some of the outside hairs also dry away from the pack making the brush look slightly frayed, in the same way an older toothbrush begins to look, which is disappointing aesthetically-wise but on the bright side I haven't seen the brush lose any of its hairs yet and I've been using it for a month and a half now. All in all I am curious to see how some of the other premium brushes stack up to this one but I am no doubt very happy with having purchased this one.
