I have been looking for my first straight razor for over 2 years. Started 5 years ago with a safety razor, i always wanted a straight razor . I knew that razor would be a Thiers Issard. Thanks to fendrihan for this 10 days of Christmas 10 awesome deals event . I have not yet to use it since i need a strop. Reminding everyone that Thiers Issard straight razors are hand made so you will find some imperfections ... This is what makes them so special to own , they are all unique.
I'm enjoying my first straight razor quite a bit. Already able to give myself a decent shave after only a couple weeks (although I still need to go over harder areas with my safety razor). The blade arrived sharp and ready to go. My only gripes are perhaps the cheaper feel to the handle, it is totally plastic. The blade itself also had a very minor ding at the corner of the blade, and although it does not cut me when I shave (as I shave using the undamaged side of the blade), it does damage my strop strop, leaving a long thin scratch after every pass
