Sad to hear the previous reviewer had such a bad experience, mine was great. I have gotten one of these blades so far for an extra set of scales I had. The blade was in nice shape and came not shave ready, as expected. I would place this blade somewhere near a Dovo for finish quality, which puts it below a Theirs Issard. The reason is, I can almost instantly get a Theirs to shave ready but a Dovo takes more work. This blade needs work to set the bevel, I ended up using 220 grit to grind it down to what it needed and it took me a good evening of work. Once the bevel was fully set, and I finished honing and stropping, I put it on my handle and had a great shaver. This blade produced a really nice, comfortable shave.
Can't beat it for the price. it took a long time to get it shave ready but the end result was worth it. I paired with the natural bone scales and it turned out to be a nice razor.
I've bought a couple of those razor blanks with some wetstones (naniwas), I was so excited to try them out on them. However, instead of receiving good blanks, I received warped, crooked and notched (deep notches on the tang and blade) everywhere blanks. Worst even, it's not even worth it to send it back for a refund since I'll simply lose all the refund money on the shipping. What truly disappoints me is that I received blanks in a worst state than gold dollars 66 from china, even if they cost me more than twice the price.
I don't know how Fendrihan sells these so cheap. I haven't made the handle yet but the blade looks great.
