  • With a firm texture and noticeable backbone, the Rooney Heritage Collection Beehive 2 Super Badger Handmade Shaving Brush is appreciated by gentlemen who know their shaving brush preferences. Loaded with super badger hair for a substantial feel, the handle is circled with raised rings like its namesake beehive, allowing for a secure grip and an intriguing look. Crafted by hand for the best shaving experience for men who recognize the difference, this is one of Rooney’s “Heritage” brushes, concentrating on the function and not so much on the flash.

Quietly designing and hand making some of the most interesting shaving brushes in the business, R.A. Rooney & Sons have been a London standard for far more than a century. Rooney brushes are classics with fanciful quirks in handle composition that keep wet shavers around the world looking for the latest versions. Check out the Rooneys on Fendrihan’s Canadian shaving and men’s lifestyle store to find your lathering inspiration.

Rooney super badger brushes are often referred to as “super silvertip badger” by other vendors. As Rooney does not label any of their brushes as silvertip, if you’re looking for Rooney’s highest quality hair, you have found it here in their super badger range.

Great all-round brush

I have seen some mixed reviews on Fendrihan in regards to Rooney brushes. I currently own two (Stubby 3 and Beehive 2). I purchased the Stubby years ago and have had no issues with hair loss (other than the occasional hair falling out during shaving). The hairs on the Stubby are the softest of any brush I have ever used to date (I also have Simpsons Chubby 1 and 3, a bunch of Kents, Rooney Beehive 2). The Beehive is a more recent purchase of mine so I waited until now to post the review to see how things would play out. So far over the last year or so this brush has lost maybe a hair every few shaves. For me, this is a great brush. It has a medium density (I'm not a big fan of wall of badger brushes, even though I own two, as there is not much flow through for the cream/soap or give when applying to face), and soft bristles (but not as soft as the stubby). It looks great and feels good when holding and I find it is the perfect knot and handle size and length. I use it for everything: soaps, creams, face lathering, bowl lathering. It has become my main brush and the others get some minor use once in awhile. I think if you luck out and get one that is not a shedder, you'd be very happy with this brush.
