  • Sold in the form of a simple but functional puck, Lightfoot’s Pure Pine Shave Creme Soap possesses the subtle but nonetheless pleasing scent of pine. Used either in the morning or after athletic activities, its usage is perfect for freshening up before the user heads out. Due to milling, this product can be used time and time again, meaning that users will be able to relish crisp, clean shaving experiences for a long time to come.

Based in Chester, Lightfoot has been producing soaps for an upscale clientele since 1890. Once restricted to a small and selective number of British clubs for men, its products have since been made available to the public for use at home.

Nice and fresh scent, old school soap. Very happy!

Great Smell, Airy Lather

I wanted to try out this soap despite reviews because of its promised scent and I was hoping I would be able to tease a good lather out of it. The scent was indeed very nice, but the lather was very light and not very rich. The bright side to the lather style is you can get a very tall lather. The down side is you can hear all the micro bubbles popping and you put it on your face and so it continues while you shave. I prefer a richer and creamier result. My standard method for lathering is to soak my brush in hot water, load the brush on the soap by swirling it around for 30+ seconds, and then transferring to a lather mug with a spot of extra water to make the final lather. There is a chance that a richer lather could be formed if you created it right on top of the soap bar. I am using this as a shower soap after two attempts as a shaving soap. It seems really nice for that, but it seems a bit of a rip-off that you can get Lightfoot's athletic soap for the same price when it is more than twice the size and probably the same composition.

Lightfoot's Pure Pine Shave Cream Soap

I'd give this product a pass. Lather is substandard. It lathers up to a reasonable amount but fades to nothing very quickly on the face. Lather is 'fuzzy' rather than creamy as it should be. So the cushioning is not very good. Use it as a hand soap or as a pre-shave soap. You can do better.
