I liked the clean modern design of this brush when I first saw it. When I got it I remarked that it was big, almost clunky in hand and against the face. Having read a few reviews that were negative ( and a few positives ) I was willing to give this brush a chance. Upon trying it for the first time it stank, I couldn’t make a lather with three of my best performing soaps and it shed like a dog in spring. After a couple shampoos and a few shaves it smells just fine. The hair loss is now next to nil and the lather and feel are spectacular. I have found 10 minutes of pre soaking the bristles, loading well with soap and using just the tips without much pressure makes for a great great performance. As time goes by with good care and use this brush will likely only get better. Soaking may soon in time affect the wood finish by graying it but other than that, as a tool for using in the art of wet shaving its a bit of a masterpiece in my opinion. If it takes a bit of time and effort to find its true value all the better. Hang in there.
Nice brush made in England. The handle is a good size and it feels right in the hand. The bristles are a little stiff but that's what I was looking for, as I tend to prefer stiffer brushes for hard soaps and to exfoliate the skin. They may soften with time as often boar does. Good purchase overall.
it is kent quality at a reasonnble price.the wooden handle is a nice feeling but it is not badger hair. should go for the real thing pure badger not bristle.
