One shave and I'm sold. My collection (all bought from Fendrihan) includes a Merkur Vision, a Merkur Slant and an Edwin Jagger Chatsworth Barley Classic. I'm not crazy about the Vision, but the other two are excellent. And Joris tops them all, right from the cool packaging: wood box, terry-cloth wrapper. The razor is beautiful to look at, which you expect from a luxury item made in France. And the shave: Wow! It's nice and heavy, so a light touch lets the open-comb head do the work. The razor is aggressive and rewards patience (probably punishes haste, too). I used Proraso soap, my Simpson's Chubby (also from Fendrihan, natch), a new Personna blade and got the best shave I've had in weeks. The Joris is expensive and it's on back-order at Fendrihan. Worth the wait.
