The razor r was properly hardened and able to shave quite nicely with some work, but the blade was malformed (blade inconsistent, tang far too thick) and I had to do a lot of grinding to even be able to properly home the blade. Overall well worth the money, but I would like to see a slightly less thick tang.
I didn't buy this for me. I got it for my wife, who is a former hairdresser and who has joined me in getting back into old fashioned shaving. I shave daily, and she less often, but she covers a lot more area doing her legs than I do my face. She loves the scales, and upon picking it up from the post office on her lunch break, showed it off to her friends at work. They all became intrigued when they saw it, and amazed at how she used it to remove the delicate hair on her arm right out of the box. It's not perfect, needing a really good stropping to get it shave ready, but at this price it is an amazing little razor.
Got this razor to practice honing on. Have a Boker that I got shave ready and been using for 3 months. So not a lot of experience. Not near the quality of my Boker, not near the price either. I managed to get it sharp enough that I could shave with it and I'm very surprise and impressed with it. For a $25 dollar razor it's a good deal.
