Upon inserting the included blue ink cartridge the pen started to work flawlessly as soon as I put the nib to paper - no scratchy or slow ink flow starts. It's a weighty pen, which I like, with a very smooth writing nib. There is no danger of you ever losing the cap as it takes a firm grip with both hands to remove it. For me it was good purchase, and for Fendrihan it was probably a good sale, although the sale could have been made even better if Fendrihan had also carried the pen essentials like Faber-Castell cartridges and converters, so that I didn't have to go and look elsewhere for them..
