There are two kinds of stroppers: The first kind has found their strop and used it faithfully for years (unless they don't roll over on the spine in which case they've used it faithfully for months. When the old one is done with they buy another of the same kind. If it ain't broke... right? The second kind realizes that there are many kinds of razors (they should know, they have a bunch) but also there are many distinct kinds of strops. Chances are you'll need more than one. The difference isn't simply between widths, thought that is certainly significant. Each kind fo strop has a certain amount of resistance (on the leather side I mean) to each lap, and that amount varies a lot. This strop is the best I ever saw with very low "drag" (as we refer to that resistance). In other words it's much smoother than most other. By comparison, my kangaroo hide strop has a lot of drag. How much drag is best for your razor? You need to find that out. But it's a good idea to have at least one low drag strop. It loses one star because I prefer a wider strop than 2 inches. Definitely recommend.
Seems like an excellent strop, but its not as pictured. The green stripes on the canvas side in the picture give it a nice vintage look. Instead of this, i received one with an almost invisible yellow strip on the inside of the canvas part. This is not the first time this has happened, I've purchased a couple of things from fendrihan which (although great) were not as pictured, i keep saying i'll never shop here again then i try a year later and still the same piss poor item discriptions. VERY frustrating. Last straw.
