I own many knifes and really care for how well a knife can be sharpen to a razor sharp edge and hold is edge. The blade on this knife has a very wide angle bevel and is definitely not a slicer. It was not really sharp our of the box. I spend a lot of time refining the edge to a slicer shape. I am not sure what kind of steel it's made of but it was not easy to sharpen either with wet stones or on a grinding belt. The shape of the blade is great for puncturing (that thing is pointy has ****) and cutting into fruits, veggies meat etc... once sharpened it makes a great lunch box knife. The lack of a locking mechanism along with the very very slim handle makes it a little hazardous to use for any work around the house. Putting pressure to the blade will cause the kife handle to rotate in your hand. Even cutting boxes is not really safe as the blade has a tendency to jam in the carton, then you have to pull back which causes the blade to close on you. Again if the blade could be sharper it would not jam in the carton like it does. I used it to split electrical wires, cutting ropes and trim plants in the garden, it did well but I have way better knifes (some cheaper in price) to do these kind of tasks and will keep the Curel Estiletto in my lunch box because it's perfect for that kind of application. It also is a good stationery around the office to open letters, sharpen a woodcase pencil or take off staples from a stapled document. Don't get me wrong It is a great addition to any knife collection. The knife is well made and very pretty. In general I think it is worth purchasing. Just maybe not the best to EDC. Buy it knowing what the use case will be…. I hope this was useful :-)
This is a well made pocket sized knife. The blade can be a bit tricky to open but has quickly become an every day carry for me.
Well made designed well Satisfied Thank you
